I love the emotion shown in the painting above. The Friar's face shows fear and forshadowing. Romeo's expression shows that he is only thinking of the now and how much he love's juliet. As for Juliet it shows that all she see's is Romeo, as both her guide and protector.
The picture above fits the ending of the play very well. Both lovers are holding on to each other and together at last, and the parents are finally settling their foolish differences.
This picture shows how Juliet was dreaming of life with Romeo. Though she knew her life would never be the same, she still cherished the thought of being with Romeo. It was true love in the play, and it is true love in her eyes in the portrait.
